Alstom has warned that its results for the first half of the 2026-2027 financial year will fall well below expectations, citing delays in Train deliveries in Germany. The company issued the warning on November 2, ahead of the publication of its Half-year results scheduled for November 17.

Between April and September 2026, Alstom's Operating margin fell to negative 4%, compared with the 6.4% previously expected. Production reached an estimated 1,800 cars, an 8% decline from the same period of the previous financial year.

Free cash flow remained negative at €1.25 billion, although this was less severe than the €1.5 billion deficit anticipated. For the full financial year, running from April 2026 to March 2027, Alstom now expects an operating margin of only 1% and free cash flow of around negative €1.5 billion, reversing its earlier expectation of positive free cash flow.

The warning follows a similar announcement in April, which triggered a 27.15% fall in Alstom's share price during the April 17 trading session. Martin Sion, who had recently taken over as chief executive, said at the time that the outlook did not match the forecasts established under his predecessor, Henri Poupart-Lafarge.
