David Knibbe will become chief executive of Euronext on 20 May 2027, following the group’s annual shareholders’ meeting and approval from the relevant authorities, according to a company statement.
Knibbe will succeed Stéphane Boujnah, who has led Euronext since 2019 and does not intend to continue in the position. The appointment was made by the company’s supervisory board after a selection process.
Supervisory board chairman Piero Novelli said Knibbe’s experience as chief executive of Euronext-listed NN Group, along with his background in a highly regulated industry, would be valuable to the exchange group. Novelli also highlighted Knibbe’s record in business integration and technological transformation.
Euronext said its incoming chief executive will oversee the group’s strategic plans and build on the growth and transformation achieved under Boujnah. Knibbe will also work with Euronext’s management team and employees to further connect European capital markets and support the development of the European Savings and Investments Union.
