Electrolux’s Cerreto d’Esi plant will maintain production at volumes in line with current levels and the average of recent years while the parties seek a reindustrialisation solution to protect its 149 workers. The arrangement is part of a new industrial plan agreed at Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy after lengthy talks involving the government, the company and trade unions.
Marche regional president Francesco Acquaroli described the agreement as an important step that had helped avert more serious consequences for employment and production. He said the deal begins a new process for Cerreto and stressed that its commitments must lead to a concrete project safeguarding both workers and the plant.
Italy’s Labour Ministry will be involved in identifying suitable income-support measures, alongside training and professional reskilling programmes. Regional labour councillor Tiziano Consoli said the region would monitor the process, including its timetable, investments and employment guarantees, and work to ensure the commitments are put into practice.
