The São Paulo School of Business Administration of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-EAESP) has opened a search for its next director, inviting applications from both current faculty and external candidates, including those based abroad who meet the required qualifications. The school has about 4,000 students.
Candidates must hold at least a PhD, have a significant academic record and experience in academic or institutional management, or in comparable projects. The requirements also include professional recognition in Brazil and internationally, as well as fluency in English. Committee chair Maria Tereza Leme Fleury said candidates must also speak Portuguese.
A search committee will review applicants’ résumés and conduct interviews. It includes FGV professors Maria José Tonelli and Marco Antônio Teixeira, along with alumni Candido Bracher, former CEO of Itaú, and Priscila Cruz, president of the Todos pela Educação movement. Fleury previously led the school from 2008 to 2015 after being selected through an earlier process of this kind.
The committee has received about 20 applications, including candidates from the United States and Europe. Applicants have until November 13 to submit their résumés, and the process is scheduled to conclude in January 2027. The new director will succeed Luiz Artur Ledur Brito.
FGV-EAESP was founded in 1954 and offers programs in business administration, public administration and accounting, as well as master’s and doctoral degrees. According to the latest Folha University Ranking, it is Brazil’s top private business school and ranks eighth overall in the field.
