Caixa Econômica Federal will release a new round of Gás do Povo benefits on Tuesday, November 10. The federal program gives eligible low-income families vouchers to collect 13-kilogram cooking gas cylinders at no cost, rather than depositing money into their bank accounts.
To qualify, families must have at least two members, be enrolled in Bolsa Família, and have a monthly household income of no more than half the minimum wage per person. Their Cadastro Único records must have been updated within the past 24 months, and the family representative must have no outstanding issues with their CPF. Bolsa Família recipients receive priority.
The benefit is collected at a gas retailer accredited by the program. The family representative can use a chip-enabled Bolsa Família card or a Caixa debit card linked to the program. Alternatively, they can provide their CPF and a verification code sent to the mobile phone number on file.
The annual allowance depends on household size: families with two or three members can receive up to four cylinders, while households with four or more members can receive up to six. Unused vouchers do not roll over to the next cycle. Vouchers are valid for three months for families of two or three people and two months for larger households, starting from the date they become available.
Recipients can check whether they qualify and locate participating retailers through the Meu Social - Gás do Povo app. Accredited outlets are also required to display program identification on items such as signs, cylinders, vehicles and communication materials.
