Heineken Brasil said Wednesday that it had signed documents to acquire Better Drinks, the company behind the Baer Mate, Mamba Water and Praya brands. The financial terms were not disclosed, and the deal is subject to approval by competition authorities.

Heineken said the acquisition is a natural development of its partnership with Better Drinks, which began in 2024. The Dutch brewer already handled the commercialisation and distribution of Better Drinks’ brands.

Founded in 2022 through the merger of four existing brands—Baer Mate, Praya, Vivant and F!VE Drinks—Better Drinks highlights its environmental, social and governance commitments. The company describes Praya as the country’s first carbon-neutral beer.

According to Heineken, the commercial distribution of Better Drinks’ brands expanded from 10,000 channels and points of sale in 2024 to more than 60,000 in 2025, following the partnership.
