Intesa Sanpaolo reported net profit of €8.2 billion for the first nine months of the year, up 8.1% from the same period last year. The result exceeded expectations, according to the report. Third-quarter net profit reached €2.6 billion, compared with €2.3 billion in the same quarter of 2025.

The bank said implementation of its 2026–2029 business plan is progressing at full pace. It now expects net profit for the current year to be well above €10 billion.

Intesa Sanpaolo expects revenue growth to be driven mainly by commissions and insurance activity. It also forecasts net interest income of well above €15 billion, with further significant growth in 2027, while costs are expected to remain stable and provisions to fall significantly.

The group also cited higher taxation, linked to Italy’s 2026 Budget Law, as well as other taxes and charges affecting the banking and insurance sectors. It reported generating €5.2 billion in taxes during the first nine months, including a €900 million impact attributed to the budget law.

For 2026, the bank expects to distribute 95% of its earnings, with 75% through cash dividends and 20% through share buybacks.
