UniCredit has officially finalized the internalization of its life insurance division through the merger of Unicredit Vita Assicurazioni into UniCredit Life Insurance. This transaction marks the conclusion of an industrial process that began in June 2025, when the group acquired 100% of two joint ventures operating in the sector from CNP Assurances and Allianz.

Alessandro Santoliquido, Global Head of Group Insurance at UniCredit and CEO of UniCredit Life Insurance, described the merger as the completion of a significant industrial journey and the start of a new development phase for the group's insurance business. The newly formed entity now holds €46 billion in reserves and generated €9 billion in premiums during 2025, positioning it among the most relevant operators in the Italian life insurance market.

Looking ahead, Santoliquido outlined plans to build an increasingly efficient, innovative, and customer-oriented activity capable of offering a wide range of solutions through the UniCredit network. To support this trajectory, the company intends to make significant investments in human capital and accelerate growth with the specific goal of tripling managed assets in the coming years.
