Anthropic reported approximately $17 billion in third-quarter revenue as part of an amended Form S-1 filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday. The update provides investors with financial information through Sept. 30, following an initial prospectus that covered only the first half of the year.

The artificial intelligence company generated $33.24 billion in revenue during the nine months ended Sept. 30, an increase of roughly 1,200% from the same period a year earlier. Anthropic recorded a net loss of $104 billion for the period, largely reflecting changes in the fair value of convertible notes and derivative liabilities. Its loss during the comparable period in 2025 was $25.1 billion.

For the third quarter alone, Anthropic reported revenue of about $17 billion and a net loss of $23.29 billion.

Anthropic develops the Claude family of artificial intelligence models and primarily serves enterprise customers. The company said its compute and infrastructure expenses rose by $14.4 billion in the first nine months of the year, up 329% from the same period in 2025.

The revised filing also disclosed purchase commitments and lease agreements representing approximately $895.4 billion in aggregate committed spending. Anthropic said substantially all of that amount is related to computing capacity and infrastructure.

The company described its expanding infrastructure as a driver of higher expenses, stating in the filing that costs increased as its compute and infrastructure capacity grew.

Founded five years ago, Anthropic was co-founded by CEO Dario Amodei and researchers who previously left OpenAI. The company has promoted a safety-focused approach to artificial intelligence, while its S-1 outlines more than 90 pages of risk factors, including political risks, infrastructure requirements and challenges involved in balancing safety with commercial goals.
