Electrolux says it plans to invest more than €100 million in products and processes to support its Italian operations under a framework agreement setting out the group’s industrial path in Italy for 2026-2029. The agreement was signed overnight by the company, unions, government ministries and the regions concerned, and is now subject to a ratification referendum among workers.
The company described the deal as the outcome of negotiations over recent months, intended to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of its Italian activities amid growing pressure in the European market. Electrolux said the agreement would maintain a significant manufacturing presence in Italy as well as the group’s global research and development centres.
For the Cerreto d’Esi site in Ancona province, the agreement sets out a process to identify a reindustrialisation project aimed at creating a sustainable industrial future for both the site and the surrounding area. On employment, it provides for the use of agreed measures, including an incentive-based departure plan covering 1,067 positions over three years.
Electrolux said it hopes employees will review the agreement and consider its contribution to the prospects of the group’s Italian operations, the competitiveness of its plants and the protection of workers. The company also called for continued government efforts with European institutions to recognise the household-appliance sector as strategic and to address energy costs and competitive conditions for European manufacturers.
