Alfama, a manufacturer and distributor of processed proteins for restaurants and bars, plans to apply for Category B registration with Brazil’s Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) in the first half of 2027. The registration would allow the company to issue listed debentures and reach a wider pool of investors as it seeks to expand its operations.

The company introduced governance changes in 2026, including a whistleblowing channel and internal investigation policies. It is also completing its third annual audited financial statement, with the report expected in March 2027. In January, its advisory board, established in 2021, is due to become a board of directors.

After registering with the CVM, Alfama would disclose its results and undergo quarterly audits. Luis Gennari, a company board member, described the audit process as a catalyst for the management team’s development, saying it would make the company’s governance more visible and predictable to the market.

Alfama projects gross revenue of R$370 million and EBITDA of R$40 million for 2026. Distribution accounts for R$300 million of revenue, while chains and franchises contribute R$70 million.

The company produces in Cascavel, in Paraná state, and Louveira, in São Paulo state. It supplies processed proteins to the food-service sector through 105 distributors, which serve 28,000 customers each month.

In Portugal, Alfama bought a mothballed ham factory near Santarém in 2024. It is seeking funding through the European Union’s PT 2030 program and plans to complete its application by the end of this year. Construction and equipment purchases are scheduled for next year, with operations expected to begin in the second quarter of 2028, initially producing cooked and fresh products. Alfama also plans to test exports from Louveira in 2027.
